project<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-column nectar-blocks-column nectar-block nectar-l1\" id=\"block-ae36426e8e\">\n<p id=\"block-1b0b7dad02\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text nectar-gt-3dmEdFV6tc\">Alles begon met de vaststelling dat er in het therapeutische arsenaal tegen kanker een molecule voor doelgerichte therapie ontbrak die tegelijk <strong>veel krachtiger <\/strong>is tegen kankercellen<strong> en veel minder toxisch<\/strong> voor gezonde cellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-HUyh4Hs2au\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Het idee voor deze molecule werd op papier gezet en voorgelegd aan enkele spelers op de markt. Zij vonden het interessant, maar \u2026 was het haalbaar? Bertrand Magy, Max Houry en Ludwig Camusot stelden een businessplan op en definieerden, planden en budgetteerden de stappen die nodig waren om dit concept te bewijzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-20d25258a8\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text nectar-font-body\">Op dat moment, in 2018, kwam de Stichting Fournier-Majoie het project steunen, samen met andere investeerders (zoals Business Angels, Noshaq, Financi\u00e8re Spin Off Luxembourgeoise en Invest Sud), en koos ze ervoor atb therapeutics te ondersteunen. Er werd 475.000 EUR toegekend aan dit ambitieuze project, waar in 2021 nog 220.000 EUR bij kwam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-row alignfull nectar-block nectar-blocks-row nectar-l2\" id=\"block-e166729b97\"><div class=\"nectar-blocks-row__inner is-contained-content scope-block-e166729b97\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-column nectar-blocks-column nectar-block nectar-l1\" id=\"block-64fdce513d\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-flex-box nectar-block nectar-blocks-flex-box nectar-l1\" id=\"block-543ffb4cf3\">\n<h2 id=\"block-f87b7666fe\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Hoe doelgerichte therapie\u00ebn werken<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-column nectar-blocks-column nectar-block nectar-l1\" id=\"block-bea7925d5d\">\n<p id=\"block-dd15abe549\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text nectar-gt-3dmEdFV6tc\">In tegenstelling tot chemotherapie, die werkt als een atoombom en geen onderscheid maakt tussen slechte en goede cellen, richten doelgerichte therapie\u00ebn zich met maximale precisie op kankercellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-WOdO2sT7i6\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Deze therapie\u00ebn verstoren ofwel de werking van de kankercellen, ofwel brengen ze een werkzaam bestanddeel bij hen (een chemotherapeutisch middel, een toxine of een radioactief element) dat bedoeld is om ze te vernietigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-lxTInjbP0G\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Zoals elke cel maken kankercellen eiwitten aan om bepaalde acties uit te voeren (zich delen om te groeien, nieuwe bloedvaten vormen, de geprogrammeerde celdood blokkeren). Aan het oppervlak van kankercellen vormen deze eiwitten receptoren die het beoogde doelwit worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-14nOp5hz3y\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Net als een zelfgeleide raket gebruikt men ADC&#8217;s (Antibody Drug Conjugates) om het doelwit te bereiken.  Ze bestaan uit 3 delen: een zoekkop (het monoklonale antilichaam) waaraan een werkzaam bestanddeel (de <em>payload<\/em>) wordt gekoppeld via een verbinding (de <em>linker<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-7c21901675\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text nectar-font-body\">Eenmaal in het lichaam ge\u00efnjecteerd, zoekt het antilichaam zijn doelwit en hecht het zich zeer nauwkeurig aan de beoogde receptor. De cel reageert en neemt het, in ons geval, volledig op (endocytose). Op dat moment komt het werkzame bestanddeel vrij om de kankercel te vernietigen of te verstoren.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-row alignfull nectar-block nectar-blocks-row nectar-l2\" id=\"block-a382bd0848\"><div class=\"nectar-blocks-row__inner is-contained-content scope-block-a382bd0848\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-column nectar-blocks-column nectar-block nectar-l1\" id=\"block-43bbe03565\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-flex-box nectar-block nectar-blocks-flex-box nectar-l1\" id=\"block-10151c0ab3\">\n<h2 id=\"block-b9c6d04a81\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">De productie van de ADC-raket is moeilijk<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-column nectar-blocks-column nectar-block nectar-l1\" id=\"block-606496d325\">\n<p id=\"block-0f4dc5b3be\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Het proces om geconjugeerde antilichamen (ADC&#8217;s) tegen kanker te produceren is bijzonder complex en moet drie uitdagingen oplossen: de specificiteit\/selectiviteit van het antilichaam, de stevigheid van de verbinding en de hoeveelheid toegediend toxisch middel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1620c74f28\" class=\"wp-block-nectar-blocks-text nectar-blocks-text\">Zoals een hoogbeveiligd slot heeft elk doelwit unieke kenmerken, waardoor de zoekkop (het antilichaam) de juiste sleutel moet hebben. De verbinding (linker) tussen de zoekkop en de lading moet stevig zijn, zodat de lading niet wordt losgelaten voordat ze de kankercel is binnengedrongen. In de bladeren worden bacteri\u00ebn ge\u00efnjecteerd die de beschrijving (DNA-code) bevatten van het voertuig dat moet worden geproduceerd. Het productieproces wordt beheerst. Voordat het atbody aan de mens kan worden toegediend, zijn er nog verschillende stappen nodig die aanzienlijke investeringen vragen en aan strikte regelgeving onderworpen zijn.
